Just How And What Causes Your Weight Gain?

weight.jpgDid you know that over 95% of people have know idea just what causes there weight gain. So if they have no idea how can they conquer or even try to lose weight!

You'll have heard or even spoke to people who are trying to lose weight and all they do is and up putting more on, sounds stupid but it's so true. So let's get straight to the point here it's very simple to understand; Weight loss is determined by your Calorie Equation. So let's run through a quick example here.

If your take and intake of around 2000 calories per day which is about the average intake for a normal person and you burn off 2400 calories your going to lose weight, the reason being because there nothing left over for your fat cells to store anything.
Now if your calorie intake again is around 2000 per day and you only burn off 1500 calories that your body send a signal to your brain saying it needs to store the extra calories away somewhere and normally it will be around your waist or bum.

So just what is your calorie intake? Well it's really simple it's the total calorie content of all your food and drink you consume through out the day. If you're eating healthy foods which you should be if you dieting or if you're a fast food junkie you need to remember a calorie is calorie. Personally I would stay well away from the fast food as this is no good for your health.

Now let's have a look at your calorie expenditure. Most people again think that exercise accounts for most of your calories you are actually burning off, or are trying to burn off, but they are so wrong, exercise alone only accounts for about one third.

If you are trying to diet you need to remember to up your meals per day, but make then all small ones instead of the three big ones you have, this way your metabolic rate is working all the time and burning off your calories. Your metabolic rate accounts for about 55 percent of your calorie expenditure. Did you know that if you eat the correct food you can burn off fat while you're sitting down, very strange but very true?

The next thing you need to remember is you physical activity, this accounts for around 35% of your calorie expenditure. Your last calorie expenditure you need to know about is dietary thermogenesis. What you might ask yourself is that? Well it's the calories you burn off while you're digesting your foods, this accounts for around 10 percent of your total calories you burn off through out the day.

Just How Do You Reduce Your Belly Fat?

bellyfat.jpgDid you know that people who have a BMI of 34 or less are regarded as health risks? This is about 37% of the world's population. The fat which is stored around your stomach is called visceral fat or sometimes intra abdominal; this does carry a greater health risk than any other fat located on your body. In recent studies abdominal fat has leaded to higher cholesterol levels, higher blood sugar, heart disease and raised blood pressure.

There are only a few reasons why we get a fat belly. Mainly it's genetic inheritance or the other is just over eating the wrong foods. Men and women tend to store fat in different places. Men store fat mainly around there stomach, where as women tend to store fat around there hips, butt and thighs, but later on in life women do tend to get fat around there stomach's this is due to "Menopause".

Health studies have also shown that stress can bring fat to anyone's body. The reason this happens is because of something called "Hormone Cortisol" this is released when people get stressed. Studies also showed that an high percentage of  "Cortisol" was found in all the people who had fat bellies.

So just how do we get rid of a fat belly? Well the simplest and easiest options are eating healthy and exercise. What I mean here is you need to match your calorie intake with your calorie needs, this way you're trying to stop gaining more weight. One of the most common mistakes people make is cutting out there meals, the best thing to do is eat more meals but make them smaller, this way your metabolism keeps working.

If you already exercise and you have found you're not losing any weight, you need to change your exercise program, the best exercise there is to lose weight is aerobic, this way you are losing weight and tightening up your muscles at the same time. Yes it will take time, but after a while your belly will disappear.

Simple Snacks for a Healthy Diet

drinking_water.jpgIf you read in any magazine or website experts say that snacking is part and parcel of a balanced and very healthy diet, but you need to remember this and it's very important your snacks shouldn't pile on empty calories. So if your snacking between your meals which you should do because you need at least 5 - 6 small meals a day you need to put some thought into what you eat. Most people just reach for the biscuit jar or cookie jar because it's so easy, try reaching for some fruit instead.

You should never let yourself get to hungry before your snack or your small meal, because this is a surefire way of over eating, you should also drink plenty of water through out the day, the recommeneded amount is around 2 - 3 pints, this also helps you feel less hungry and keeps you from dehydration. The snack foods you take should include some form of protein, because it will help fell fuller for longer.

Below are some great snacks which you might be interested in taking through out your busy day, you should try to fit these around your eating plan.

Fruit and Vegetables:
Let's face it any fruit or vegetable is good for you, but you could try taking them with a dip but make sure it's a fat free dip, this way it gives them a more taste.

Dairy Products:
Dairy products are ok for you in small amount, so if you fancy a nibble try eating some sting cheese or light yogurt, and even low fat milk.

Drinks:
You must stay away from the fizzy drinks like Coke Cola, you need to try and get into the habbit of drinking water or make yourself a jucier. If you make yourself a jucier you can add any fruit you like in and blend it up. This way your getting all the healthy protein inside you.

Sweets:
Yes sweets! You can have sweets and I would recommend you having the following; 2 whole wheat fig bars, low fat crackers, fruit bars the list is endless for sweets but stay away from all the sugar ones.

You should always keep a list of your favourite and healthy snacks, this way when your next out food shopping you'll not forget them, and you won't binge on the fatty foods when your snacking.

You see most people are afraid when it comes to losing weight because they want to avoid the frustrations of hunger. Yes everyone wants to eat, but how much do you need to eat and have often do you need to eat.

Our body tells you that your hunger so you eat, the more you eat the fatter you become, it's plain and simple. Our body also tells us that if we eat one meal a day our body needs to store fat. So how do we lose weight by eating?

You see you don't have to starve your self to lose weight and you don't have to be hungry in order to lose weight. You have to eat more often and smaller meals you see this will help you can your body full and it will also help you stick to a healthy eating plan, which in the long term will help you reach your goals, which is losing weight. Also by eating more meals you are keeping your hunger at bay, this will help you and stop you from over eating.

You should be eating 5 -6 meals a days, I don't mean large meals all the time, just nice size meals, so cut out the 3 large meals you have now and divide them into 5 - 6 meals. You see eating more often helps to keep you full. Also you metabolism keeps burning off the calories.

You must never skip a meal. Some people think that skipping meals like breakfast or the there dinner is good, and the reason they do this is because they are trying to save on calories, Skipping meals also slows down your metabolism, because your body feels like it's missing or not get enough food. Now this is when you body tells you to click that switch inside you to survival mode.

I've seen so many people eating really fast, you should eat slower this way your body has about 30 minutes to realize that it's full. Eating to fast just burns unnecessary calories off, you might think this is good, but you just end up eating more. You need to start losing weight the healthy way how I've explained above, this way you'll lose weight permanently and you keep it off for good.

The Basic Understanding Of Your Diet And Nutrition

fasting.jpgYou must understand that healthy eating is not complicated, even though many experts make it out to be. Infact most experts who write about this haven't really got a clue what they are talking about.

If you want to see your muscles you first have to get rid of what's hiding them, everyone has a six pack on there stomach you just need to lose the fat around it to show it off. It's very simple to do this; first you must eat enough of the correct food to preserve your muscle, if you eat too much you'll put fat on. Below are four of the basic tips and tricks for you to lose weight around your stomach.

First you need to fill your body with protein and multicoloured vegetables, the simple reason for this is because a high protein diet makes you feel full up longer, and this way you are keeping fat off your belly. If you eat too many carb's you'll notice that your belly will feel bloated all the time. High protein foods are, chicken, fish, beef, and vegetables, if your vegetables are more coloured the better they are for you.

Carb's can be your worst nightmare if you eat them after 4.00pm, try to stay away from these as much as possible. Change your white rice or white bread to brown rice or multigrain bread if you fancy a late snack in the evening.

You need to eat as much fibre as you can, so in the morning try sprinkling raw oat bran on your cereal, or even better go and buy a smoothie maker and mix all your fruits up with it. This way your body gets better assimilated to dietary fat.

Fats, so many people misunderstand fat when they are consuming foods. I don't mean going out and eating burgers or anything like that. You see you should be aiming for around 95g of fat per day, or even less if you're really trying to lose weight. Fat can be taken in many different ways and you should be choosing monounsaturated fats like, olive, rapeseed, avocados, nuts, butter, meats and the best of all is fish oils this way you are getting the best of both worlds when you cook your fish.

The Hardest Part Of Losing Weight

diet.jpgThe hardest part of losing weight is starting your long journey from the beginning. Most people fail here, because they can't take that step, or get out of there comfort zone to lose weight. You see most people overwhelmed and embarrassed about going to the gym because they are to fat. Once you start out on your journey to lose weight you need to set clear goals and most important stay focused on the things you need to do to reach you'll goals.

Stay Encouraged: You don't need to hell for leather on your first walk, or exercise. You just need to exercise in moderate spells, this way you'll make more progress and you'll rip the benefits later on.

Food: Your diet and nutrition is more than half of you battle against losing weight. Most people go to the gym and work out for one / two hours and then go home and have a fat greasy meal with a drink of alcohol to swill it down. To be-honest with I can't see the point in going to the gym if your going to do this. All you need to do is eat the right food (not to much at once) at the right time of day and not skip your meals and you'll lose weight.

Figure Out If It's Working: I quick way of finding out of your losing weight is, if your waist tightens while your strength increases then you are on the right tracks. If you find out this is not the case, then you need to cut down on your calorie intake and exercise a bit harder.

Conquer One Goal At A Time: I see this time and again people have a fad of dieting for a month and they see nothing happening, so they go back to there old ways. The best thing you can do is set your small and achievable goals this way you'll know if your diet is working for you.
